Email Automation Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Email Automation Manager to lead the design and execution of data‑driven email journeys that drive both acquisition and retention. Based in Cape Town, you will own the end‑to‑end architecture of our customer communication, ensuring seamless integration with core systems and delivering hyper‑personalised experiences at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and manage complex automated workflows within our Customer Engagement Platform.
• Create high‑converting nurture streams tailored to key business verticals such as mortgage applicants.
• Own the full customer lifecycle, from onboarding new users to re‑engaging dormant contacts.
• Develop win‑back and sunset strategies to reactivate inactive users.
• Analyse churn signals and trigger personalised offers to improve retention.
• Integrate CRM, engagement platform and internal databases for real‑time personalisation.
• Maintain a unified view of touch points and ensure accurate multi‑touch attribution.
• Iterate journeys through rigorous A/B testing of subject lines, send times, creative assets and flow logic.
• Establish dashboards to monitor deliverability, engagement, conversion and revenue metrics.
• Refine attribution models to capture the contribution of email and cross‑channel interactions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in email marketing, CRM or marketing automation, managing complex lifecycle journeys.
• Proven track record of using automation to increase conversion and re‑activation rates.
• Strong understanding of GDPR and data‑privacy best practices.
• Collaborative mindset, working closely with Marketing, Product and Sales teams.
