Electronics Engineer – Johannesburg

About the role

Our client specializes in engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and construction of electrical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, manufacture, functional test, quality check, repair and maintenance of the company’s products.
• Clean and bench‑test items sent in for repairs using diagrams and test instructions.
• Design and manufacture equipment, repairing down to component level and re‑testing repaired units.
• Specify and order components needed for manufacture and repairs.
• Develop, compile and maintain manufacturing, repair procedures and test instructions.
• Act as Radiation Protection Officer handling Krypton‑85 instruments and assist in production workshops, stores, drawing office and site construction as required.

Required profile

• Degree or B‑Tech in Electrical Engineering (Light Current) with a valid driver’s licence.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in electronic design, component selection, manufacturing, QC testing and repairs.
• Hands‑on use of diagnostic instruments in an electronics laboratory.
• Experience with intrinsic safety design, type testing and loop testing is advantageous.
• Ability to program in C, C++, Python, basic SQL, VBA, ladder logic, structured text or function block.
• Proficiency with PC‑board design software for schematics, layout, Gerber file handling and strong PC literacy (Word, Excel).
