Electronic Technician – Naval Base Durban

About the role

The South African Navy is seeking an Electronic Technician to join its team at Naval Base Durban. The role involves maintaining, testing and repairing electronic systems used in radio and radar applications. Candidates must hold a National Diploma in Engineering and be registered with ECSA.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct planned maintenance on electronic systems and equipment.
• Operate and interpret data from software‑driven test instruments.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on electronic hardware.
• Test electronic systems to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification technical experience.
• Current compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technician.
• Valid driver’s licence and proficiency in spoken and written English.
