Electrician – Gauteng (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Electrician to join our Gauteng team on a full‑time basis. The role involves installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems in a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment while adhering to all safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain electrical systems, machinery and equipment in compliance with codes and safety standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency of electrical assets.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults using testing devices and diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect circuits and equipment regularly to identify hazards or malfunctions.
• Report safety concerns and electrical problems to the Maintenance Manager.
• Respond promptly to electrical emergencies to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff, engineers and production personnel.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal electrical regulations.

Required profile

• Trade Tested Electrician (Red Seal) certification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in the FMCG sector.
• At least 1 year experience with Variable Speed Drives (VSD) or Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
• Ability to work independently and in shifts, including evenings, weekends and overtime.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Electrical systems installation and repair.
• Preventative maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Troubleshooting using testing and diagnostic tools.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Work with light and heavy current circuits.
• Experience with VSD/VFD technology.
