Electrical & Electronic Engineer, Western Cape

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical & Electronic Engineer to join our industrial energy and thermal solutions team in the Western Cape. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from concept design through to hot commissioning of large‑scale boiler, steam and hot‑water systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design complete electrical and instrumentation packages, including PLC cabinets, motor control centres, cable sizing and control philosophies.
• Lead PLC and DCS programming (Siemens SIMATIC STEP 7, Schneider Unity Pro) and fine‑tune control loops for optimal efficiency.
• Prepare instrument data sheets, I/O lists, EFDs and wiring drawings using AutoCAD Electrical or EPlan.
• Conduct cold and hot commissioning on fans, pumps, variable‑speed drives, combustion equipment and related oil‑gas systems.
• Support commercial activities by estimating and drafting technical proposals for new boiler enquiries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng or Pr.TechEng) preferred or progressing towards registration.
• Minimum 5 years experience in industrial control environments, with at least 3 years focused on PLC/DCS programming.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to interact with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
