Electrical Draughtsman

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Draughtsman to join our Building Services team in Riverhorse Valley, Durban. You will produce accurate electrical drawings for a variety of commercial, residential, and institutional projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical layouts using AutoCAD and Revit, covering lighting, power, cable routes, distribution boards, fire detection and other services.
• Create schematic, single‑line and construction drawings, and update them according to engineer and client feedback.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural and other building‑services disciplines.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions and document control, and attend coordination meetings as required.
• Support engineers in preparing tender and construction documentation.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Electrical Draughting, CAD, Revit or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience producing electrical drawings for building‑services projects.
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment is highly advantageous.
• Ability to interpret engineering designs, sketches and specifications.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Good working knowledge of Revit for electrical modelling.
