EE Regional Category Manager

About the role

The EE Regional Category Manager will lead the hardware product categories for the Western Cape, driving growth and market share across Cement, Metals & Fencing, Roofing & Wet Trade. Reporting to the Regional Executive, the role combines strategic partnership development, supplier negotiations and category strategy implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for hardware categories in the Western Cape region.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key regional suppliers.
• Drive growth, monitor national sales and gross profit budgets.
• Review product ranges, order new lines for new stores, and launch house‑brand items.
• Negotiate regional supplier trade agreements, promotional deals and pricing.
• Manage supply‑chain relationships and conduct regular meetings with regional and national suppliers.
• Analyse national performance data to identify opportunities and develop action plans.
• Improve retailer loyalty and initiate “killer deals” to boost volumes.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Marketing (essential).
• Minimum 10 years experience in buying/procurement.
• 5‑10 years buying experience in the hardware retail environment.
• 5 years in‑store retail management experience.
