Duty Manager

About the role

The Duty Manager oversees the day‑to‑day operations of a remote safari lodge during assigned shifts. Acting as the senior operational representative on duty, you will ensure seamless guest experiences, coordinate across all departments, and uphold five‑star service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for guests, handling enquiries, feedback, complaints and special requests.
• Supervise and motivate staff across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Guiding and Maintenance, ensuring correct appearance and service etiquette.
• Conduct shift handovers, daily briefings and monitor schedules, activity timings and service delivery.
• Maintain compliance with lodge SOPs, brand standards and luxury service benchmarks.
• Coordinate with Safari/Guiding teams to align guest movements and experiences.
• Act as first responder for emergencies (medical, wildlife, fire, security) and ensure accurate incident reporting.
• Complete daily operational reports, monitor room status, arrivals, departures and assist with stock control and basic cash handling.
