Driver Salesman – FMCG Bakery Delivery

Enjoy being on the road while building customer relationships and delivering exceptional service? Join a leading FMCG bakery business as a Driver Salesman, responsible for safely delivering bakery products and generating sales along an assigned route.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver bakery products safely and on schedule across the assigned route.
• Achieve daily and monthly sales targets by promoting products to existing and new customers.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and collect payments.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness, and report any defects.
• Perform stock counts before departure, reconcile stock, and manage returns and basket control.
• Obtain Proof of Delivery for every delivery and report any delays.
• Supervise the Van Assistant and ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
• Report competitor activity and market feedback to support business growth.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (Matric).
• Valid Code 10 driver’s licence and Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
• 1–2 years of professional Code 10 driving experience.
• Previous sales or route‑sales experience is advantageous.
• Strong customer‑service and relationship‑building abilities.
• Good numerical ability and cash‑handling skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily deliveries.
