About the role

The European Investment Bank (EIB) in Pretoria is looking for a professional Driver to support the Head of Office, staff and delegations. This full‑time, three‑year fixed‑term role combines safe transportation, vehicle upkeep and basic administrative assistance to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Transport the Head of Office, EIB employees and delegations to meetings, appointments and the airport.
• Maintain the assigned vehicles, report faults, perform minor repairs, and schedule servicing and cleaning.
• Ensure vehicles are fueled, charged and ready for use.
• Provide logistical support for EIB events such as Europe Day and cocktail receptions.
• Carry out messenger duties, including collection and delivery of office materials, letters and documents.
• Offer basic administrative assistance to the Head of Office and Office Manager when required.

Required profile

• Secondary level education.
• Valid Category B driving licence with a clean record and a professional driving permit (PrDP).
• At least 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably for a governmental or international organisation.
• Excellent command of English and a professional personal presentation.
• Knowledge of local roads and customs, and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer tools.
• Basic car maintenance abilities.
• First‑aid training and awareness of passenger physical security.
