Driver Assistant – Fixed-Term Contract (FMCG Delivery)

About the role

The client, a leading FMCG distributor, is looking for reliable Driver Assistants to support daily truck deliveries on a fixed‑term basis. You will work closely with the delivery driver to ensure goods are loaded, transported and delivered safely, on time, and with accurate paperwork.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the driver with loading and off‑loading of delivery vehicles.
• Verify stock against delivery documents before dispatch and upon receipt.
• Obtain customer signatures on delivery notes, invoices and waybills.
• Complete and process delivery documentation, including PODs, invoices and delivery records.
• Report shortages, damaged goods, returns or discrepancies to the relevant department.
• Support stock checks and vehicle loading to ensure correct quantities are dispatched.
• Provide excellent customer service during all interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the delivery vehicle.
• Follow company policies, road safety and health‑and‑safety regulations.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Previous experience as a Driver Assistant in FMCG, wholesale, retail, logistics or distribution.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Physically fit to load and unload goods throughout the shift.
• Clear criminal record and verifiable employment references.
• Availability to start immediately and work overtime, weekends and public holidays when required.
