Dispatch Supervisor

About the role

The Dispatch Supervisor oversees long‑haul dispatch operations, ensuring that physical stock, system transactions, transport planning, and delivery performance are fully aligned. You will lead a dispatch team, coordinate with transport partners, and guarantee accurate, on‑time deliveries to customers and inter‑branch locations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily dispatch operations from planning through execution, ensuring orders are picked, checked, and loaded according to schedule.
• Coordinate with transporters and 3PL providers to secure vehicles, optimise utilisation, and maintain legal load limits.
• Capture, validate, and reconcile stock movements on ERP systems (e.g., Syspro) before loads are released.
• Ensure all dispatch documentation (delivery notes, invoices, PODs) is complete, accurate, and compliant with hazardous‑goods regulations.
• Supervise dispatch staff, allocate tasks, monitor productivity, and provide training and mentorship.
• Liaise with internal departments (warehouse, production, sales) and external stakeholders (transporters, customers) to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
• Conduct cycle counts and support overall inventory accuracy.

Required profile

• Proven experience in dispatch or logistics operations.
• Strong understanding of transport planning and coordination.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Syspro.
• Knowledge of hazardous‑goods documentation (TREM cards, SDS, UN numbers).
• Ability to lead and develop a team in a fast‑paced environment.
