Dispatch Clerk – FMCG/Retail (Salt River/Woodstock)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Dispatch Clerk to manage the flow of goods and ensure timely delivery operations within our logistics team. Your primary focus will be supporting the dispatch process, coordinating shipments, and maintaining accurate records. This role is integral to ensuring our customer commitments are met efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the warehouse team to prepare orders for dispatch.
• Maintain accurate shipping and delivery records, ensuring all documentation is complete.
• Schedule and monitor transportation arrangements for timely delivery of goods.
• Communicate with drivers and customers to provide updates on shipment status.
• Resolve any issues that arise during the dispatch process, ensuring a quick turnaround.
• Assist in tracking inventory levels and reporting discrepancies as necessary.
• Collaborate with the logistics team to optimise delivery routes and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all dispatch operations.

Required profile

• Proven track record in a logistics or dispatch role within a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
• A valid driver’s licence may be required based on operational needs.
