Director, Technical Services EMEA

About the role

The Director of Technical Services will lead the strategy and execution of technical services for FreeBalance customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Services, you will coordinate with teams in Ottawa and overseas to ensure successful implementation of the FreeBalance Accountability Suite.

Key responsibilities

• Define and oversee technical strategies, models and tools for data migration, installation and deployment of the Accountability Suite.
• Collaborate with R&D to design interface components and with consultants to create training curricula.
• Manage day‑to‑day activities of the EMEA Operations & Maintenance team and provide oversight to remote technical consultants worldwide.
• Work with Project Managers to design rollout plans for decentralized operations and disaster‑recovery sites.
• Develop and maintain technical tools, scalable implementation models and ensure consistency, quality and timeliness of customer deliveries.
• Travel extensively across the EMEA region to support client sites.

Required profile

• University degree in Information Technology.
• At least 5 years of experience managing an internationally dispersed services and support team.
• Proven experience in reviewing and developing support and maintenance policies.
• Strong project management background and ability to communicate with senior stakeholders.
• Familiarity with goal‑setting frameworks such as OKRs.

Required skills

• Experience with open‑source components such as Tomcat and BIRT.
• Proficiency with commercial middleware, specifically MS SQL and Oracle databases.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Windows operating systems.
