Director of Software

About the role

The Director of Software will lead a high‑performing software function that designs and delivers client‑facing solutions across multiple industries. This senior position sits at the intersection of technology, consulting and delivery, ensuring that the organisation consistently creates commercial value for external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own the strategy, architecture and delivery of custom software platforms for external clients.
• Manage multiple project pipelines, balancing technical excellence with commercial and delivery pressures.
• Engage directly with clients, stakeholders and executive leadership to translate business needs into usable solutions.
• Lead, mentor and grow engineering teams while maintaining strong commercial acumen.
• Ensure consistent quality, usability and measurable business outcomes for all client solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field (MBA advantageous).
• 10+ years of software development experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership or director roles.
• Proven track record delivering client‑facing software solutions in a solution‑driven environment.
• Experience with Enterprise Content Platforms (non‑negotiable).
• Strong ability to manage multiple teams, projects and delivery pipelines simultaneously.
• Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
