About the role

The Western Cape Government seeks a dynamic, high‑performing individual to lead public participation and communication initiatives across municipal entities. This senior position reports to senior government officials and plays a pivotal role in fostering transparent dialogue between municipalities and the communities they serve.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement public participation strategies for municipal projects.
• Coordinate communication activities to ensure clear, timely information flow to citizens.
• Facilitate community meetings, workshops and consultation processes.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of engagement efforts.
• Provide guidance to municipal staff on best practices in public outreach.
• Prepare reports on stakeholder feedback and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislative and policy requirements.
