Director of Programmes (Impact) – South Africa/Kenya

About the role
AMI is seeking a senior leader to own the end‑to‑end design, delivery and scaling of its tech‑enabled business learning programmes across South Africa and Kenya. Reporting to the MD – AMI Impact, the Director of Programmes will manage a multi‑country team, ensure programme impact, client satisfaction and financial performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the build‑out of a scalable Pan‑African programme delivery model that meets impact metrics, scope and budget.
- Oversee project performance, timelines, budgets and outcomes; develop dashboards for real‑time visibility.
- Design tailored solutions using AMI’s products and data, convene technical experts and act as subject‑matter expert.
- Define delivery governance, meeting cadences, escalation pathways and embed AI tools for efficiency.
- Collaborate with technical, commercial and innovation teams to translate insights into replicable products.
- Build and scale the implementation team, fostering capability and high‑quality execution.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in enterprise or private‑sector development in Africa.
- Proven operational rigour combined with strong relationship and people‑management skills.
- Track record of designing and delivering impact‑focused programmes at scale.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with technical, commercial and innovation teams.
