Director, Internal Auditing

About the role

The Director, Internal Auditing leads the delivery of audit plans across the corporate function portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and the Internal Audit Charter. This senior position provides risk insight to executive leadership and drives high‑quality assurance outcomes in a complex global environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a risk‑based audit plan for allocated portfolios, aligning with company strategy and audit charter requirements.
• Execute audit activities across corporate functions, assessing governance, risk management, compliance, monitoring, reporting and policy controls.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of oversight responsibilities and contribute to a strong control environment.
• Collaborate with senior and executive leaders to identify control enhancements and ensure corrective actions.
• Manage portfolio audit projects, regulatory requirements and other assurance activities approved by senior leadership.
• Provide leadership on risk management, internal controls, risk mitigation and compliance policies.
• Oversee audit quality, ensuring consistent, timely, and high‑quality delivery.
• Present findings, recommendations and insights to senior management and audit committees.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal audit leadership, preferably within large, global organisations.
• Proven ability to assess second‑line governance, risk management and compliance processes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with senior and executive leadership.
• Demonstrated people‑management experience, including coaching and developing audit teams.
• Ability to align audit activities with strategic priorities and charter requirements.
