DevOps Engineer

About the role

Network IT is seeking a passionate DevOps Engineer to join its high‑performing engineering team in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. You will own cloud infrastructure and platform services, driving automation, reliability and security for innovative IoT and data‑driven products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, manage and optimise cloud and container‑based environments.
• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
• Implement infrastructure security measures and vulnerability management.
• Build and maintain monitoring, observability and alerting solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement preventative measures.
• Support product lifecycles, including deployments and updates.
• Collaborate with development, QA and operations teams to improve delivery processes.
• Drive automation initiatives that boost reliability, performance and scalability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–5 years of hands‑on DevOps experience.
• Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure and containerised environments.
• Experience supporting production systems and resolving operational issues.
• Strong Linux administration knowledge.

Required skills

• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, Akamai, Hetzner.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible.
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.
• Scripting: Bash, Python, Node.js.
• Containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Database administration and design basics.
