Detailing Sales Representative – Pretoria West & North

About the role

The Detailing Sales Representative will promote the company’s healthcare products to General Practitioners and Specialists across Pretoria West and North. The role focuses on building product awareness, driving prescription recommendations, and achieving sales targets within the assigned territory.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets within the allocated territory.
• Detail and promote healthcare products to healthcare professionals, encouraging product recommendation and prescription generation.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities and implement territory business plans aligned with company objectives.
• Monitor competitor activities and market trends.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders, ensuring regular call cycles and territory coverage.
• Provide scientific and product‑related information, resolve queries, and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate customer records and call reports using the CRM system.
• Develop thorough knowledge of the product portfolio, therapeutic areas, and market developments.
• Deliver professional product presentations and educational sessions while complying with industry regulations.
• Plan and manage daily, weekly and monthly activities, analyse performance, and identify growth opportunities.
• Handle promotional materials and samples responsibly.
• Submit timely reports, forecasts and market feedback, and participate in sales meetings, training programmes and product launches.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Marketing, Business Management or equivalent healthcare‑related field.
• 2–5 years experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, consumer health or medical sales.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
• Experience calling on General Practitioners and Specialists.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems for call planning, reporting and customer record management.
