Despatch Manager – FMCG Cold Chain (Northern KZN)

About the role

An experienced Despatch Manager is needed for a FMCG cold‑chain operation in Northern KZN, overseeing warehouse, fridge, and outbound distribution activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily despatch, receiving and warehouse operations, including cold‑storage management.
• Drive stock control, FIFO rotation and inventory accuracy.
• Lead large teams across despatch, stores and warehouse functions.
• Ensure accurate, timely loading of vehicles and monitor KPIs such as dispatch accuracy and productivity.
• Implement process improvements, cost‑saving initiatives and optimise warehouse layout and space utilisation.
• Coordinate closely with logistics, production and sales teams while ensuring safety and hygiene compliance.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain or Warehouse Management (advantageous).
• 5–8+ years FMCG warehouse/despatch experience.
• 3+ years managing large teams (100+ staff advantageous).
• Strong stock control and inventory management background.
• Experience with ERP/WMS systems such as SAP or Mosaic.
• Advanced Excel and reporting capability.
• Ability to work in high‑pressure, deadline‑driven environments.
• Understanding of cold‑chain and perishable goods handling.
• Stable employment history and traceable references.
