Desktop Support Technician (VIP Support)

About the role

The Desktop Support Technician (VIP Support) provides second‑line technical expertise and discreet, high‑touch service to Executives and Board members. You will ensure uninterrupted access to devices, systems and collaboration platforms, both on‑site and remotely, including during travel and executive meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver rapid, confidential incident resolution for VIP users.
• Prepare, configure and manage IT setups for executive and Board meetings.
• Maintain end‑user stability and meeting readiness (RUN).
• Drive improvements to the VIP support experience and adopt new collaboration tools (GROW).
• Support pilots, technology rollouts and modern workplace initiatives (TRANSFORM).
• Provide remote troubleshooting and on‑site assistance for laptops, mobile devices, printers and peripherals.

Required profile

• NQF Level 7 qualification in IT, Computer Science or equivalent.
• CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• 2–4 years of experience in desktop support or service‑desk environments.
• Proven record of second‑line support, including remote troubleshooting.
• Experience with collaboration platforms such as Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom and WebEx.
• Ability to work under pressure with quick response expectations.
