About the role
The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government seeks a competent individual to lead regulatory reform initiatives. The Deputy Director will work to streamline regulations, engage with key stakeholders, and produce actionable policy recommendations that enhance the province’s business environment.
Key responsibilities
- Drive regulatory reform projects aimed at reducing unnecessary administrative burdens.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement across government, private sector, and civil society to gather insights and build consensus.
- Develop and present policy recommendations that support a more efficient and business‑friendly environment.
- Monitor implementation of reforms and assess their impact on economic development.
Required profile
- Demonstrated competence in regulatory analysis and reform.
- Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and policy development.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory issues into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
