Depot Manager – FMCG Cold‑Chain Operations

About the role

The company is a well‑established FMCG manufacturing and distribution group seeking an experienced Depot Manager to lead a high‑volume cold‑chain depot in Empangeni. You will be responsible for the overall performance of the branch, balancing sales growth with operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Own the branch income statement, drive profitability and control costs.
• Develop and execute regional sales and marketing strategies to increase market share.
• Oversee daily depot activities, including dispatch, distribution, route planning and fleet utilisation.
• Maintain cold‑chain integrity, ensuring product quality throughout the supply chain.
• Manage stock control, FIFO rotation, inventory accuracy and shrinkage.
• Lead a team of 100‑150 staff, fostering productivity, attendance and performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a depot or warehouse in a structured FMCG or production environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving sales targets.
• Demonstrated ability to optimise operations, reduce costs and improve service levels.
• Leadership experience overseeing large, multi‑disciplinary teams.
