Depot Assistant – Warehouse Operations

About the role

The Depot Assistant will support daily warehouse activities at our Secunda site, ensuring smooth inbound logistics and accurate stock management. You will work closely with the logistics team to maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards while handling bulk product movements.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, bin, and store goods following compliant stacking and storage practices.
• Execute SAP transactions for all warehouse activities accurately and promptly.
• Maintain stock accuracy by following inbound logistics work instructions and conducting periodic stock counts.
• Identify and report defects, hazards, and risks to prevent safety incidents.
• Load and off‑load bulk product into trucks, operate pumps, and perform basic plant tasks such as tank line‑ups, tank dipping, and hose handling.
• Perform housekeeping, painting, and selected hand‑tool utilisation as required.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOX, and other governance frameworks.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education.
• Dangerous goods certificate.
• Valid Code 10 driver’s licence with PDP.
• Minimum 3 years relevant warehouse or logistics experience.
• Basic plant knowledge, including tank handling and product sampling.
• Ability to identify and mitigate safety hazards.

• Dangerous goods handling certification.
