Department Coordinator – Foods (Retail)

About the role

Woolworths is seeking a motivated Department Coordinator for the Foods area at Fountains Mall in Jeffreys Bay. This full‑time position leads daily shop‑floor operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, stock availability and store presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily shop‑floor activities to maintain efficient workflow and exceptional customer experience.
• Monitor inventory levels, investigate out‑of‑stock items and communicate needs to relevant departments.
• Supervise, train and delegate tasks to team members, ensuring performance standards are met.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints and till transactions in line with company policies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge and support promotional activities.
• Implement shop‑keeping disciplines, security protocols and loss‑prevention measures.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 or National Certificate (NQF level).
• Retail or FMCG experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to lead teams, manage challenges and uphold high ethical standards.
• Analytical thinking for stock control and problem solving.
• Good numeracy and literacy for processing information accurately.
