Dental Assistant – Part‑time Shifts in George

About the role

Our client, a leading private healthcare provider, is seeking Dental Assistants for locum, part‑time shifts at private dental facilities in George, Western Cape. You will support dentists and hygienists by preparing patients, handling instruments, and performing dental x‑ray duties while delivering high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients for dental procedures and record medical histories and vital signs.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up trays, and maintain equipment inventory.
• Assist dentists during procedures, manage emergencies, and support dental hygienists as needed.
• Expose and process dental x‑rays and maintain x‑ray equipment.
• Provide patients with oral hygiene instructions and postoperative care guidance.

Required profile

• Valid HPCSA registration as a Dental Assistant.
• Certification or associate degree in an accredited dental assisting program.
• Dental x‑ray certification and Grade 12 completion.
• Experience using computers for clinical documentation.
