Demand Planner

About the role

Lasec SA is a leading scientific brand in Africa, importing a wide range of fast‑moving scientific products from trusted suppliers worldwide. The Demand Planner will support the Product Department by ensuring optimal stock levels, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to strategic sourcing and procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, negotiate price, discounts and delivery terms.
• Perform demand planning and purchasing using market knowledge and forecasting to meet growth targets.
• Rationalise product lines and suppliers based on price, quality, availability, reliability, certification and technical support.
• Adhere to cost allocations, expenditure procedures and supply‑chain principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce, Science or a related business qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in buying or inventory management.
• Commercial affinity and ability to understand basic business concepts.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, multitask and deliver results.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and reasoning skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
