Debtors Manager – Senior Accounts Receivable Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Debtors Manager to lead our accounts receivable function. The role combines strategic cash‑flow management with hands‑on oversight of credit control processes in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive improvements in collections and reduce debtor ageing across the portfolio.
• Manage bad‑debt write‑offs and implement effective credit risk controls.
• Lead and develop a team of 10+ finance professionals.
• Monitor cash flow and provide actionable insights to senior management.
• Oversee financial reporting related to receivables and cash positions.
• Maintain and optimise ERP systems supporting the AR function.
• Collaborate with sales and operations to align credit policies with business objectives.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 8–10 years of Accounts Receivable / Credit Control experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior management role with proven results.
• Track record of improving collections and reducing ageing.
• Retail industry experience is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience in financial reporting and cash‑flow analysis.
