Debtors Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Debtors Controller to join our accounts team in Durban. The role involves managing collections, reconciling debtor accounts and supporting the Accounts Manager with reporting and ad‑hoc tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage collections across allocated debtor portfolios.
• Allocate payments accurately and reconcile debtor accounts.
• Handle debtor queries and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Compile and submit monthly debtor reports for management.
• Maintain age analysis and update debtor schedules in Excel.
• Process credit notes after verification.
• Perform daily full‑function debtor control and update the Omni System.
• Allocate payments received to branch or bank accounts.
• Support the Accounts Manager with ad‑hoc tasks and ensure queries are resolved.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a debtor or accounts receivable role.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and telephone skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, including formulas and reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Experience using the Omni System.
• Strong data entry and reconciliation skills.
