Deals Analyst (M&A Support)

About the role

A leading financial services organisation in Cape Town is looking for a Deals Analyst to support strategic transactions, commercial initiatives and mergers and acquisitions activities. The role covers transaction execution, financial analysis, investment case development, market research and executive reporting, working closely with senior stakeholders and transaction teams. It is a 6-month fixed-term position starting in November 2026, with a hybrid arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial analysis and transaction support materials, develop basic valuation and financial models, and assist with business and investment cases
• Analyse financial statements and commercial performance
• Support transaction planning and execution, track deliverables and milestones, coordinate stakeholders and help with due diligence documentation
• Carry out company, sector and competitor research, analyse market trends and assess commercial considerations
• Prepare presentations and governance packs, compile transaction papers for management and approval forums, and present findings in an executive-ready format

Required profile

• BCom, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related degree
• 2-5 years of relevant experience; financial services, insurance or banking exposure
• Experience supporting transactions, corporate finance, strategy, investments or commercial projects is advantageous
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, highly numerate and detail-oriented
