Data Protection Officer – Remote (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a knowledgeable Data Protection Officer to lead our PII compliance efforts on a contract basis. This remote position involves safeguarding personal data, ensuring lawful processing, and supporting our teams in privacy best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation and management of PII compliance protocols.
• Evaluate data flows and documentation to identify, classify, and mitigate structural identifiability risks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop, review, and update data‑management, privacy, and compliance policies.
• Provide guidance and training on handling sensitive documents and personally identifiable information.
• Act as primary liaison during data‑privacy incidents, supporting investigation and remediation.
• Maintain detailed records of processing activities for regulatory reporting and transparency.

Required profile

• Minimum experience in PII compliance with proven expertise in complex, non‑trivial scenarios.
• Deep understanding of GDPR, data‑privacy, and related compliance standards.
• Strong background in data management techniques that reduce re‑identification risk.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for conveying privacy concepts.
• Experience handling sensitive documents, preferably in finance or corporate environments.
