Data Operations Manager

About the role

The Data Operations Manager will lead a multi‑tier team responsible for collecting, validating and managing data to the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Director, the role balances people leadership with data governance, ensuring consistent delivery and capacity planning across the function.

Key responsibilities

• Own data quality and operations, guaranteeing accuracy, completeness and consistency.
• Lead, mentor and develop Team Leads and Data Leads.
• Design, maintain and improve quality‑control frameworks, workflow processes and training structures.
• Build and streamline training programmes for new hires and existing staff.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies, implement changes and measure impact on efficiency and accuracy.
• Apply Agile practices to organise delivery, maintain visibility and ensure consistency across teams.
• Plan and manage capacity and pipeline, balancing workload against deadlines and resources.
• Monitor team and data performance against KPIs, track error rates and act on trends early.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing within a multi‑tier structure, coordinating managers, leads and operators.
• Background in data operations, data quality or a detail‑heavy delivery environment.
• Familiarity with the property sector, particularly PBSA/student accommodation.
• Confidence with data tools, reporting, spreadsheets and workflow systems such as Jira.
• Strong understanding of data governance, quality management and data‑driven process improvement.
• Experience working in Agile environments and using Jira for delivery management.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver training and capability‑building initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
• Collaborative leadership style focused on accountability, continuous improvement and team development.
