Data Engineer

About the role

Klipboard is seeking a Data Engineer to join its newly created Group Technology function. Working closely with the Chief Information & Data Officer, you will lead the delivery of a global Datalake and build data pipelines that support commercial data propositions for customers and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and evolve the strategic data architecture for the business.
• Manage the data delivery roadmap across the function.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Databricks.
• Write efficient, optimized SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
• Develop data integration workflows with Python, Scala, and Java/React.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, product managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance and reliability.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Required profile

• Strong commercial data mindset with experience delivering data lakes or large‑scale data platforms.
• Ability to engage with product managers and business stakeholders to drive revenue growth and decision‑making.
• Experience managing demand and prioritising data use cases across insights, streaming, product integration, data science and multi‑tenant architectures.
