Data Engineer II

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer II to design, develop and maintain enterprise data solutions that enable advanced analytics, improve cost-effectiveness and ensure flexibility across systems. The role involves building robust data pipelines, integrating multiple sources and collaborating with architects, analysts and product owners.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire, transform and load data into enterprise data warehouses and data lakes.
• Design and maintain data marts, models and data flows.
• Automate data pipelines and schedule tasks for operational analytics.
• Conduct gap analysis, cost/effort assessments and prepare business cases.
• Develop unit and system tests and manage UAT and change control sign‑off.
• Perform data quality assessments, monitoring and alerts.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend flexible, cost‑effective solutions.
• Present technology solutions to senior leadership and influence data analytics transformation.
• Provide analytic infrastructure and big‑data support to Data Operations and Analytics teams.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems.
• Advanced certifications in Ab Initio (highly valued) and experience in financial services (advantageous).
• Proven experience with ETL tools, data warehousing and performance optimisation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
