Data Analyst – Junior to Mid Level

About the role

A Junior‑to‑Mid level Data Analyst who can turn messy business questions into clear reports, dashboards and decisions. You will spend most of your time in SQL, Excel and QuickSight, collaborating with the Data Engineer and Data Scientist to make Asuer's customer, claims and network data visible across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Build business intelligence dashboards in QuickSight (or similar) and maintain them end‑to‑end.
• Translate ad‑hoc business questions into clean, repeatable reports.
• Write SQL against PostgreSQL to extract, shape and validate data.
• Maintain metric definitions so the whole business speaks the same language.
• Interpret trends and anomalies using existing models and frameworks.
• Work closely with the Data Engineer on data quality and the Data Scientist on deeper insights.
• Document analyses, assumptions and methodologies for future reuse.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in a Data Analyst or BI role (Junior to Mid seniority).
• Comfortable owning a dashboard from design through communication.
• Strong business sense and a curious, analytical mindset.
• South African work authorisation.
• Tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or Engineering (preferred universities: WITS, TUKS/UP, UCT, Stellenbosch).
