Data Analyst – Credit Intelligence (Entry Level)

About the role

Capitec is seeking an energetic, self‑motivated Data Analyst to support credit decisioning in a fast‑moving banking environment. This entry‑level position is ideal for candidates with strong mathematical skills who enjoy logical problem‑solving and building data‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend credit intelligence models, tools, and processes.
• Analyse data using SAS, SQL, and Excel.
• Monitor system behaviour, flags, anomalies, client queries, and economic impact triggers.
• Prepare clear monthly reports and communicate insights effectively.
• Ensure accurate balancing of bank‑related data and support system enhancements.

Required profile

• Strong mathematics background (e.g., BCom with Maths or similar).
• Actuarial students or candidates with actuarial aptitude are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent written communication, curiosity, and a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
