Cybersecurity Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to support a UK‑based employer in protecting systems, networks, and data from digital threats. This fully remote position is ideal for a South African professional who can work independently and collaborate with UK teams across time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support monitoring of security systems, alerts, and incident‑response processes.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, assist with penetration testing, and perform risk analysis.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders across different time zones.
• Maintain accurate records of security incidents, audits, and compliance documentation.
• Utilise SIEM platforms, endpoint protection software, and threat‑intelligence tools.
• Support security‑awareness training and contribute to policy development.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen the organisation’s security posture and reduce risk exposure.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cybersecurity analysis, IT security, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple security tasks simultaneously.
• Proactive problem‑solver with high attention to detail.
• Experience working with UK‑based clients is advantageous.
• Reliable laptop, stable internet connection, and a quiet working environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SIEM platforms.
• Experience using endpoint protection software.
• Familiarity with threat‑intelligence tools.
• Knowledge of network monitoring technologies.
