Customer Service Intern

About the role

DSL Telecom, a business technology partner offering connectivity, voice, cloud platforms and integrated tools, is looking for a Customer Service Intern in Somerset West. The internship is full-time, 8 hours Monday to Friday, and requires regular presence at the DSL Telecom office in Somerset West; only local candidates are considered.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first-level contact and support for customers seeking administrative and technical assistance, resolving issues promptly.
• Manage high volumes of inbound and outbound calls efficiently and within specified timeframes.
• Identify customer needs, clarify information and offer solutions or alternatives through research.
• Handle customer complaints effectively, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
• Escalate unresolved queries to higher support levels, following communication protocols and keeping proper documentation.

Required profile

• Matric certificate.
• Proficiency in English.
• Customer orientation and ability to adapt to different types of callers.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively.
• Tech-savvy.
