Customer Service Desk Controller – Logistics

About the role

The Logistics Customer Service Desk Controller will be the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring smooth coordination of deliveries and high‑quality service throughout the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the logistics function, ensuring customer expectations are met and drivers receive accurate instructions.
• Manage existing customer accounts and coordinate delivery schedules with the Execution Desk.
• Provide shipment rate quotations, set up shipments, and process customer instructions and invoicing via the fleet management software.
• Enter all fleet operation activities accurately and promptly.
• Track shipment status and communicate updates to customers via WhatsApp, email, or telephone.
• Resolve issues for customers and carriers, answer enquiries, and maintain strong relationships.
• Manage third‑party suppliers such as depots, shipping lines, and logistics service providers.
• Monitor sales performance, business‑unit targets, and uphold health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification; a Bachelor's degree or relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.
• Strong computer literacy with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Customer‑service orientation with excellent planning, organizing, and time‑management abilities.
• High‑quality written and verbal communication skills.
