Cross‑border Controller – South Africa/Zambia Route

About the role

The Cross‑border Controller will oversee freight movements between South Africa and Zambia, ensuring smooth border operations and high customer service standards. The role involves coordinating escorts, handling documentation, and monitoring convoy progress.

Key responsibilities

• Book and coordinate escorts for copper convoys.
• Monitor convoy movements from border posts to off‑loading points.
• Receive and process southbound proof of delivery (POD) documents.
• Prepare and submit export documentation with clearing agents for northbound dispatches.
• Pre‑alert shipment paperwork to designated border agents.
• Liaise with clients on shipment status and operational updates.
• Respond to queries regarding loading, off‑loading, and transport documentation.
• Apply knowledge of super‑link vehicle requirements in daily operations.

Required profile

• Matric or Senior Certificate with certification in cross‑border road freight or a related qualification.
• Minimum five years’ experience in cross‑border road freight, specifically on the South Africa‑Zambia corridor.
• Strong understanding of operational and documentation requirements for this route.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in handling export and import documentation.
• Knowledge of super‑link vehicle operational requirements.
