Cost Accountant

About the role

The client, a leading wine producer, is looking for a Cost Accountant to calculate manufacturing costs, support pricing decisions and ensure accurate inventory reporting. You will work closely with production and finance teams to maintain cost integrity across all wine houses.

Key responsibilities

• Update Production Orders in Business Central, ensuring correct stock consumption and production.
• Process production runs, apply accurate costs, and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain supplier pricing masterfile and analyse finished‑stock pricing.
• Verify stock counts, analyse variances and ensure 100% inventory accuracy.
• Report cost prices for input materials versus budget and forecast.
• Create purchase orders and deliveries for bulk wine in WineMS, match invoices and maintain Fairtrade documentation.
• Assist with ad‑hoc finance and operations tasks and complete quarterly Stats SA questionnaires.

Required profile

• Matric with a diploma or degree in Financial Accounting.
• 2‑3 years of cost management experience.
• CIMA or SAIPA registration is advantageous.
• Experience in cost accounting and administration within a manufacturing environment.
