Cosmetic Frontshop Assistant – Full‑time Retail Role

About the role

Dis‑Chem is looking for a motivated Cosmetic Frontshop Assistant to join the new Kensington Square store in Durban North. You will help maintain high merchandising standards while delivering friendly, knowledgeable service to customers at the point of sale.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the full range of cosmetic products neatly displayed and stocked.
• Monitor sell‑by dates and rotate stock to ensure freshness.
• Process all sales transactions, including cash, card, vouchers and coupons.
• Handle product exchanges and authorised returns accurately.
• Secure cash in the drop safe and follow all cash‑handling procedures.
• Verify payments according to Dis‑Chem verification procedures.
• Maintain planograms and merchandising standards.
• Assist customers with product advice, out‑of‑stock queries and promotions.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• 0‑6 months retail experience; at least 1 year in a cosmetics retail environment is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and customer‑oriented attitude.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Reliable transport or residence close to the store.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
