Corporate Communications Specialist

About the role

The Corporate Communications Specialist will support TotalEnergies Marketing Services in South Africa as the energy market evolves. You will help shape the brand’s external and internal narrative, ensuring a positive image while contributing to the company’s net‑zero ambition.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all external communication activities, including press conferences, media statements and responses to media queries.
• Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, opinion leaders and other stakeholders to enhance brand perception.
• Monitor local and national news to ensure the TotalEnergies brand is portrayed positively.
• Create and execute internal communication content calendars, editorial committee meetings and internal campaigns.
• Support brand positioning, act as brand custodian, and ensure compliance across retail, B2B, CSI and other marketing channels.
• Track competitive activities, industry trends and provide insights for business objectives.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams and external agencies for campaign execution, budget tracking and results analysis.

Required profile

• Proactive communications professional with a strong interest in the energy sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of crafting clear messages for diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions such as marketing, sales, operations and finance.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Experience in media relations and press handling.
• Knowledge of brand management and internal communication best practices.
• Familiarity with coordinating external agencies and cross‑functional marketing campaigns.
