Coordinator: Student Governance

About the role

The Centre for Student Life and Learning at Stellenbosch University seeks a Coordinator for Student Governance. Reporting to the Manager of the Unit for Student Governance, you will support and develop student leadership structures across the university.

Key responsibilities

• Provide systemic support to the Student Representative Council (SRC), Societies Council, Academic Affairs Council, Student Parliament, Student Court, Student Election Commissioner and Die Matie.
• Organise and facilitate leadership development workshops for all student governance bodies.
• Collaborate with the Manager of Student Governance and faculty departments to design feedback and evaluation frameworks ensuring accountability.
• Promote inter‑campus governance collaboration among Stellenbosch, Tygerberg and Saldanha Military Academy campuses.
• Coordinate training camps and smooth transitions between terms of office for all governance bodies.
• Assist with minute‑taking for meetings between the SRC executive and university management.
• Support the SRC office with general enquiries and asset management.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of student governance structures and co‑curricular programmes.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with student leaders, faculty and senior university staff.
