Conveyancing Secretary

About the role

Our client, a well‑established law firm in Bryanston, Johannesburg, is looking for a Conveyancing Secretary to support its property law department. The role involves handling property transfers, cancellations and liaising with clients and the Deeds Office.

Key responsibilities

• Process property transfers and cancellations in accordance with legal requirements.
• Manage conveyancing procedures using ABSA processes and ensure compliance with Deeds Office standards.
• Utilise conveyancing software such as Lexis Convey or GhostConvey to prepare and file documents.
• Provide administrative support to the property law team, maintaining accurate records and meeting tight deadlines.
• Communicate directly with clients, offering a professional and client‑focused service.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years’ experience as a Conveyancing Secretary.
• Strong background in property transfers and cancellations.
• Proven experience with ABSA conveyancing processes (essential).
• Solid understanding of conveyancing procedures and Deeds Office requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
• Client‑facing communication style.
