Conveyancer – Lead Durban Conveyancing Function

About the role

A leading law firm in Durban is looking for an experienced Conveyancer to head its conveyancing function. You will be responsible for managing the team, ensuring compliance and delivering high‑quality property transfer services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Durban conveyancing team, including bonds.
• Oversee file preparation, quality control, compliance and registration timelines.
• Handle complex matters, disputes and problem resolution.
• Draft and review transfer documentation and final accounts.
• Provide technical guidance to agents, marketers, paralegals and developers.
• Build and maintain relationships with agencies and property developers.
• Identify business opportunities and contribute to fee targets.

Required profile

• Admitted Attorney and Conveyancer.
• Proven team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Solid knowledge of property transfers and conveyancing processes.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and client relationship skills.
• Commercially minded with an interest in business development.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of property transfer documentation and final accounts preparation.
• Strong understanding of conveyancing compliance and registration timelines.
