Controls Engineer – Building Automation (EMEA)

About the role

Amazon’s Global Services team is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, implement and maintain building automation systems across its EMEA data centre portfolio. The role focuses on ensuring reliable control infrastructure that supports 24/7 operations and enhances the customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret electrical and control diagrams, specifications and building operation requirements.
• Develop control panel bill‑of‑materials, ISA sheets for transmitters, valves and other instrumentation.
• Create detailed drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes and wiring schematics.
• Design logic diagrams in International Automation format for PLCs and Distributed Control Systems.
• Prepare cable routing plans, schedules and oversee installation, testing and commissioning of systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Manage service contracts and provide technical assistance to internal customers.

Required profile

• Background in construction management, mechanical, electrical or related technology discipline.
• Ability to translate customer needs into scope, specifications and design intent.
• Experience reading and applying technical specifications in a data‑centre or industrial environment.
• Business‑level proficiency in English.
