Contracts Manager

About the role

The client is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to lead multiple construction projects in KwaZulu‑Natal. You will be responsible for overseeing projects from pre‑construction through delivery, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic, operational and financial oversight of several construction projects.
• Lead, mentor and develop site management teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
• Oversee project planning, costing, programming and resource allocation.
• Monitor contract performance, manage risks and ensure compliance with SHEQ policies, statutory regulations and contractual obligations.
• Prepare monthly management reports and progress updates.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Participate in internal and external project meetings, offering strategic input.

Required profile

• BSc in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Registered Professional Construction Manager (Pr.CM) or Professional Construction Project Manager (Pr.CPM) with SACPCMP.
• Minimum 10 years’ senior management experience on major construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management systems and construction methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with project management software.
