Construction Site Supervisor

About the role

The Construction Site Supervisor will lead on‑site activities for electrical infrastructure projects in Johannesburg. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency through proactive team management and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Control project documentation, work method statements, site diaries and instruction books.
• Manage site security, vehicles, plant, tools and equipment; coordinate material procurement and delivery.
• Supervise staff, allocate work, monitor performance and ensure legal compliance on site.
• Support quality assurance by identifying root causes of deviations and monitoring QA/QC processes.
• Promote health, safety and environmental compliance, report unsafe conditions and participate in H&S system improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience as a construction supervisor in electrical infrastructure.
• N6 qualification with a valid vocational trade test.
• Valid driver’s licence and a current medical fitness certificate.
• Ability to work at heights and perform fall‑arrest techniques.

Required skills

• Legal liability knowledge, Excavation supervision, HIRA.
• First Aid Level 1, IRCON (Construction Regulations), Fire‑fighting.
• Fall‑arrest and rescue procedures (US229998, US229995).
• Broad technical knowledge of plant and equipment.
• Understanding of OHS Act, NEM Act, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
• Computer literate; proficient in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
